Question

After activating this checkbox and publishing the object, how in the system do users actually choose to deactivate a record?

Dear Jordan,

You can deactivate the records of the objects to exclude them from the business logic. It can be used if the data is outdated and will never be used. Here is the example. Lets say you have some contact type values that  are no longer relevant. You can either delete them or make inactive. Once you've selected 'Allow records deactivation' for the ContactType object, you will have a new column added to the table - 'Inactive' http://prntscr.com/oye8hk In this example, I've deactivated Test value. As the result, the value will no longer be displayed in the lookup dropdown list  http://prntscr.com/oye8nw

Note, the deactivation of the records is available for all objects but automatic filtering of all records works only in drop-down lists, on the lookup selection page and in quick filters. The automatic filter is not applied on pages with lookup contents, in the advanced filters and sections. For the sections it is better to use access permissions functionality.

Dean Parrett,

Hi Dean. How does one deactivate records in default lookups like "countries". We have a use case where our client has operations in only select countries but might expand to other countries in the future.

How can we re-use the default countries look up and yet permit de-activation?

Hello,

The records can be disabled on the object level what will exclude the required country from the countries lookup on any page. I've described the steps how to do it in the post https://community.creatio.com/questions/record-de-activation-out-box-lookups#comment-76237

Hello,

You would need to check the file ConnectionStrings.config and check the authorization type. If windows authentication is used the parameter Integrated Security=SSPI should be specified and Identity=ApplicationPoolIdentity or domain user data should be in the the application pool (https://prnt.sc/mmoea5). You can also use SQL server connection parameters in connection strings file and all needed recommendations are specified in the Academy article provided below.

Also please make sure all required windows components are installed (mostly seems that one of Windows features is not turned on).

Here is an Academy article regarding on-site installation:

https://academy.bpmonline.com/documents/administration/7-14/installing-bpmonline#XREF_45275_bpm_online_on_site

So the key point here is that you need to check connection parameters to your database server and windows components, because this issue can occur if:

1) There are incorrect connection parameters specified in connection.string file

2) Not all required windows features are enabled

Best regards,

Oscar

Oscar Dylan,

Thanks Oscar,enabling http activation fixed the problem

There is only a String field available for text in Pre-configured pages. Is there any way that information from a Notes field in a record can be transferred to a Pre-configured Page and displayed with images and other formatting?

I have reference information for answering questions that will not transfer correctly as text only.  I know that I could convert the reference information to an image format and attach it, but that requires additional clicks when answering the question and makes it more likely that the reference information will be ignored or used incorrectly. I prefer Pre-configured pages to Edit pages because I can change the buttons at the top to eliminate confusion about the Close button and to add additional functionality.

Dear Janine,

In order to display text with images as it is on the Notes tab, you need to modify the control  of your pre-configured page.

1. Go to configuration section, find the created pre-configured page.

2. In the diff section find the string field, which supposed to display text with images.

3. Take EmailPageV2 "Body" diff element as an example and apply the control config with needed classes and content-type.

Save pre-configures page schema and clear browser cache.

Hope you find it helpful.

Anastasia

Hi,

I want to make the links pasted in the Contact Communication Options detail, clickable. Preferably as explained here: https://community.bpmonline.com/questions/hyperlink-fields .

If possible I would also like to only do this if "CommunicationType" = LinkedIn

Question

Hi,

I have created a "Requests" section and created a business process that would run from the “Requests” section page. The process must

send the request for approval (the person seeking the approval manually selects the approver). In case of a positive result, the process terminates,

In cases of a negative result, the person approving the request must fill in the reasons for the rejection after which the system notifies the person seeking the approval. I have used the [Send Email] element to deliver the message.

The email should send from the selected approver Email Id. But I am unable to send the email from the selected approver, from option is showing only synchronization mail.

Hello,

The send email element uses the email boxes that are integrated with bpm'online and used for sending emails. In other words only those email boxes that are synchronized with the application and can be found in [Mailbox synchronization settings] lookup. Therefore, the users who approve the requests should have their email boxes synchronized with the application to be able to send the emails on their behalf.

Dean

While Installing the BPM'Online with MS SQL sever connectivity, we restore the backup file in SSMS and create an IIS APPPOOL login.

But in installation of BPM'Online with Oracle DB server, we run scripts and restore the .dmp file. Do we need to create a Oracle DB User and import the .dmp to that particular user and create an IIS webpage using the same user name? Or is there any other method to be followed? Kindly help me understand.

If possible pls share the IIS related materials for bpm'online with oracle db server connectivity.

Hello!

User who will connect to DB must have DBA role and under this user can be used for running application pool for bpmonline.

Hi,

I have created a "Requests" section and created a "Case" with New, In Progress, Pending Approval, two mutually exclusive Resolved or Cancelled.

I have used "change access rights" element to apply these access rights.

If the case advances to the "Resolved" or "Cancelled" stages no one other than members of the “Financial Officer” role have the rights to Edit or Delete the Request. All other employees retain the right to read the request.

I have given users for these functional roles contact administrator, Manager and Regular Employee.

I have used change access rights element to the Resolved and Cancelled Stages. After testing all employees are able to edit or delete the requests records for which the status is resolved or cancelled.

I followed this [CHANGE ACCESS RIGHTS] CASE ELEMENT document in academy.

Please guide me on this issue.

Thank you.

Hello!

Firstly, I would suggest to remove access rights from All users and roles (http://prntscr.com/ow2v9z) and not just pre-defined set of roles as after changing the role structure this element would need to be changed as well, which is rather inconvenient.

Secondly, please note that it impossible to remove rights for users that are System administrators as well as the managers of Roles that contain System administrators as it's members. Also the rights can't be removed from the owner and creator of the record. The right panel would still show correct rights, however, for those specified users rights will not be applied.

If neither of the points explained above work in your case please send email to support@bpmonline.com as this issue would need to be investigated specifically for your site.

Best regards,

Dennis

Hi,

I have the same problem right now, and I've checked all the possible problems Dennis commented, and neither of them are my case.

Did you manage to solve the problem?

Thanks,

Regards.

Hello Francisco,

Could you please elaborate what exactly is not working correctly for you?

Looking forward to your response!

Kind regards,

Is there an object that can be used to trigger start a process when a new attachment is added on the attachments tab of a record?

For certain sections, it would be nice to receive an email notification when a new attachment is added.

Dear Mitch,

You can use "SectionName attachment" objects to trigger such process, for example "Contact attachment" object.

Angela

Hello,

I have a Contact entity with some details.

In other entity (named NewEntity), I want to have access to some details (Addresses) from Contact entity.

Pratical example: I have a detail wizard in NewEntity that has columns that are fields from addresses detail in Contact entity.

How can I do that?

Thank you

Dear Carolina,

It would not be possible to add such detail. Basically if you add contact address detail in the new entity, you will not be able link the particular address to the contact. It can only be done using the development tools to filter the addresses by the required contact.

I suggest you to add the detail with editable list which can filter the addresses by contacts. Here is the development guide how to do it.

We have a microservice to send us information from other database, for example, a list of contacts, and we want to receive that information and show it in the screen (in the section of contacts) without save it in the BPM's database. How can we do this? Can we use Odata or Odata can only work with information from the BPM's database?

We were also trying to get a list of entities from a web service in a business process, but can we show that list on a section without saving it in BPM's database?

Best regards

Dear Carolina,

Please check this article, there you can find the algorithm of how to implement such task within the system. In our development cases we usually create detail which load data from external services, but you can adjust the given example up to your business task. Please note, that it requires development skills:

https://community.bpmonline.com/articles/add-virtual-detail-page

Hope you will find it helpful!

Anastasia Botezat,

We are seeing this article but we have some problems.

We have a service, we have a response 200 OK but it seems that you aren't using the code we have in Visual Studio.

The service to call is a POST with two properties (two strings) in request and this struture in response:

{
    "content": [
        {
            "accountId": "IQSB263",
            "productName": "Super Savings",
            "accountStatus": "ACTIVE",
            "activationDate": "2019-07-26T14:00:46Z",
            "amount": 0.09,
            "interestRate": null,
            "maturityDate": null
        },
        {
            "accountId": "SYCQ537",
            "productName": "Fixed Deposit Product",
            "accountStatus": "ACTIVE",
            "activationDate": "2019-07-29T09:12:38Z",
            "amount": 1000.0,
            "interestRate": null,
            "maturityDate": null
        }
    ],
    "errors": []
}

Code in VS:

[OperationContract]
        [WebInvoke(Method = "POST", UriTemplate = "GetSavingsAccountByCustomer", RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json,
            BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped, ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)]
        public async Task<string> GetSavingsAccountByCustomer(string url, string httpMethod)
        {
            var client = new HttpClient
            {
                BaseAddress = new Uri("http://25.80.134.70:18001/corebanking/")
            };
            //client.BaseAddress = new Uri("http://192.168.1.23:18001/corebanking/");
            client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Accept.Clear();
            client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Accept.Add(new MediaTypeWithQualityHeaderValue("application/json"));

            //GetCustomers
            UsrCustomerResponse customers = new UsrCustomerResponse();
            HttpResponseMessage result = new HttpResponseMessage();

            result = await client.PostAsync("", new StringContent(
                new JavaScriptSerializer().Serialize(new CustomerRequest()

                })));

            if (result.IsSuccessStatusCode)
            {
                customers = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<UsrCustomerResponse>(await result.Content.ReadAsStringAsync());
            }

            var res = new SelectQueryResponse
            {
                RowsAffected = customers.Customers.Count,
                Success = (customers.Message == "CallCenterServices.Success." ? true : false),
                Rows = customers.Customers,
                RowConfig = RowConfig,
                ErrorInfo = new ErrorInfo
                {
                    Message = customers.Message
                }
            };

            return JsonConvert.SerializeObject(res);
        }

On virtual detail in bpm, we have this code:

define("UsrSchema8Detail", ["ServiceHelper"], function(ServiceHelper) {
    return {
        entitySchemaName: "UsrEntitySavingAccount",
        methods: {

On Visual Studio, after attach to process, we can't debug.

Best regards.

Carolina Silva,

Please check the following article on server code debugging, particularly the section in the end of the article on possible debug issues.

https://academy.bpmonline.com/documents/technic-sdk/7-13/server-code-debugging

Regards,

Anastasia

Anastasia Botezat,

I checked the article, but I still with the same problem.

We have this response:

{"GetSavingsAccountByCustomerResult":"{\"rowConfig\":{\"UsrAccountId\":{\"dataValueType\":1},\"UsrProductNameCode\":{\"dataValueType\":1},\"UsrAccountStatus\":{\"dataValueType\":1},\"UsrApprovedDate\":{\"dataValueType\":7},\"UsrDepositAmount\":{\"dataValueType\":5},\"UsrInterestRate\":{\"dataValueType\":5},\"UsrMaturityDate\":{\"dataValueType\":7}},\"rows\":[],\"notFoundColumns\":null,\"responseStatus\":null,\"rowsAffected\":0,\"nextPrcElReady\":false,\"success\":false,\"errorInfo\":{\"errorCode\":null,\"message\":null,\"stackTrace\":null}}"}

Thank you

Carolina Silva,

Please try to do the following:

1. Re-compile all items the application once more.

2. Check that you have debug settings set as in the article here:

https://academy.bpmonline.com/documents/technic-sdk/7-13/visual-studio-settings-development-file-system

3. Try not to create a project, but just upload files into the Visual Studio and go through the process once again.

Regards,

Anastasia

Anastasia Botezat,

I open Visual Studio with Terrasoft.Configuration.sln and I'm editing and  the file UsrServiceSavingsAccountByCustomer.cs

I tried but I'm still with the same problem.

Can you help me?

Thank you :)

Carolina Silva,

Unfortunately, it is hard to tell what exactly could cause such issue. Please capture a video of how you start the process from the very beginning, so we can check steps taken and advise with the solution.

Regards,

Anastasia

Carolina Silva,

Please start the process not from connecting to the w3wp process, but from creating a new project, adding files, compiling system, then attaching to process.

Regards,

Anastasia
