Unable to edit date

Our sales team is running into an issue while preparing quotes. The date field is auto populated to 4/17/19 and this field is not editable. Any ideas on how to change this to an editable field?

Dear Christine,
Most likely the value is set to the field on the object level. Make sure the field doesn't have default value. Apart from that, it can be some business process that sets the value.
As for making the field editable - go to the business rules in the section wizard and disable the business rule which makes the field locked.
