setting approver as owner's manager

Hi,

I have a simple requirement where an approval is raised and approver should be Organization role of owner's manager group.

For Example, If someone in 1st line support (organization Role) is the owner Approver should be 1st line support managers group(organization Role). I am unable to achieve this in normal business process.

Please help me achieve this.

Create a business process:

Read Owner > Read Owners Group > Read that group's management group > Send approval to that group.

I would make a sub-process that take the Owner's ContactId and returns his Managers group id.

Dear Nagaraju,

Apart from the ways mentioned before, you can also set up managers for the needed roles in your system, add the manager role to the needed users and then assign managers to users in Employees section. (make sure that manager is specified for the user in the user's employee record).

After that you can set the approver as employee's manager and employ as the current user in Approval element of your BP.

In this way approval will be sent to assigned employee's manager.
