Question

opportunity stage automatic behaviour on history tab

Hi community,

We have built a custom sales process as requested by costumer, but still using default opportunity section and opportunities stages.

My questions is regarding the automatic behaviour of the history tab. We would not like that if one of the stages is skipped, it is filled in the history tab.

As of now if I pass from stage 1 to stage 5, the history tab will have stages 1,2,3,4,5. and I would like it to have 1,5.

Is there any way to achive this, or Am I just missing something?

The work around will be to build a process that is writting the history but I would prefer to avoid that if I can get the desired behaviour.

Thanks,

Luis

Dear Luis,

Due to the application logic if you move from the 1st stage to the 5th, the system understands that the opportunity already passed the stages from the 2nd to 4th. That is why they are recorded on the detail. As for now there is no option to change this logic and we do not have the prepared example how to change it using the development tools.

There were multiple similar requests from different customers and our R&D team will review this logic in the nearest upcoming application versions.

Dean

Hi Dean,

Thanks for reply and I hope we have the implementation of this logic soon, it is very counter intuitive.

I still have one more question regarding the present logic.

If I have stages 1,2,3A,3B,4,5, were 3B and 5 are final stages

Will the 3B be written in history tab?

I've tried in two different instances and got different behaviour.

Thanks

Luis

Dear Luis,

No, it will be skipped. It happens since there should be only 1 final result. If you have multiple final stages, the only 1 will be logged in the detail since due to the application logic, only one final result is possible.

Hi Both,

I have a similar question, and I was wondering you have faced this before.

We have 2 custom sales processes with different stages and mapped to 2 different cases.

Process1 | case1 | Stage: 1 - 2 - 3 -4

Process2 | case2 | Stage: 1 - 2 - 5 - 6

When having case2 enabled on the page and passing from Stage 1 to Stage 6, the history tab shows an entry for stage 1,2,3,5,6. Stage 3 is unexpected as it part of Process 1.

The same issue happens with Process 1 when passing from Stage 1 to Stage 4, we get 1,2,3,5,4 as entries on the history tab. (stage 5 is showing despite being from Process 2)

All works fine when going stage by stage on the case.

Is there any way of preventing the unexpected stage from displaying on the History tab?

Thanks,

Tiago
