Creatio Cloud > Disaster recovery and backup

Hi All,

I found the answer from Creatio support team, as below.

I would like to know the current information because this comment was written in 2020.

-Does Creatio have a backup policy in the form of documentation?

-How long is the data retained?

Our customer needs these of details, so if you share them with me, it would be great.

Thanks!

Hello Tiago,

1. A differential backup of a cloud instance is being created automatically every day, a full back - once a week: full backup - on Saturday, differential backup - on other days. The backup also can be done per your request at a specific time.

2. Our backup protection against catastrophic events is provided by transferring the backup to Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). The recovery process for backups of <7 days usually takes 2-8 hours depending on a backup volume. The backup retention period is 90 days.

3. You can install marketplace and custom packages via the system interface, but we recommend submitting a request to Creatio support team in case you would like to install custom packages as we automatically create a backup of a cloud website before the package is being installed and can promptly recover the website in case any issues occur.

Please, let us know in case any further information is required.

Best regards,

Olga.

SUI NOMIYAMA,

Unfortunately no public document is available.

Backup is performed automatically with the following schedule:

- Frequency: Daily.
- Backup types:
   - Full backup: Performed every Saturday.
   - Incremental backup: Performed on the other days of the week.
- Retention period: Backup data is stored for 30 days before it is deleted.

In the event of a system failure, we can recover data based on our defined objectives and backup retention policies:

1. Data Recovery Scope: We can restore data from backups that are up to 30 days old, ensuring that your critical information remains secure and accessible.
2. Recovery Time Objectives (RTO):
   - For backups that are less than 7 days old, the recovery process can be completed within 2 to 8 hours, depending on the volume of data to be restored.
   - For backups older than 7 days, recovery may take between 16 to 24 hours, again depending on the volume of data.
3. Recovery Point Objective (RPO): Data loss is limited to a maximum of 24 hours, meaning that in the event of data loss, the most recent data that can be restored will be from the last 24 hours.

Hello,

The following information has been updated (the remaining is still valid):

  • Retention period: Backup data is stored for 30 days before it is deleted.
  • Starting from 8.2.0, we have optimized package installation mechanism via the Application Hub, which brings several key benefits:
  1. Automatic Validation of Dependencies and Configuration: Before installation, the system automatically checks for compatibility, ensuring all necessary dependencies are in place and the configuration is complete for a smooth deployment.
  2. Configuration Backup: If the installation fails, you can easily restore the system using the “Restore from Backup” function. This allows for a quick system recovery (restoration time: 6–10 minutes, depending on the scope of changes).
  3. Real-Time Log Access: Logs are immediately available after the operation, enabling quick analysis and troubleshooting of any issues.
  4. Enhanced Compilation Process: The compilation process occurs during both package installation (for modified elements) and rollback, ensuring that the system remains consistent.

Dymytriy Vykhodets,

Thank you for your reply.

Oh, it seems that an important point has changed: the backup retention period was reduced from 90 days to 30 days.

Then, there is no publicly available backup policy document, correct?

We are asked questions about this topic as follows.
1-Does Creatio have a backup policy in the document?
2-How long can the backup data hold?

If you can share the answer with me, it would be great.
