Any idea if it is possible to group date fields into months (or years) on pivot tables, the same way that it is done in charts?

Unfortunately, at the moment there is no such functionality for pivot tables which allows you to group dates as it is allowed in charts. We have already registered a request to our R&D team for the development of the dates grouping in pivot tables. If this request will be in high demand it will be implemented in the future versions of the application.
Also in case if the out-of-the-box pivot tables functionality seems not enough for performing your business tasks you also can try to use the Excel pivot report add-on from Marketplace.

Thanks Roman, I'm sure it will be in high demand as the potential to build reports will be highly increase with a timeline in the pivots.
