Make Lookup fields in Virtual Object detail clickable

Hello All!

I have implemented the functionality here:

The issue is that some of the fields are lookups, so I am wondering how to make these fields act as lookups, and make them clickable links to the related records.

I have looked into this idea:

 but it does not seem to work here.
